E.H.S. TRAINING

Health and Safety is an integral part of everything CPM Inc. does. The safety of our workers and the environmental responsibility to safeguard our natural surroundings are integrated management practices throughout CPM Inc.

The commonality of all efforts under by our firm is an unwavering commitment to:

-              Prevention of illness and injury,

-              Promotion of health and safety for all of its workers,

-              Protection of its workers by providing healthy and safe conditions on the workplace.

Quarterly E.H.S. (Employee Health Training) training is initiated for all staff to acquaint them with Health and Safety information and their rights and duties in the workplace.

e.g. “Safety Manual for Building Cleaning and Maintenance Workers”, “Right-To-Know”, “Bodily Fluids Cleanup Procedures”, “Infection Control”, “Safety Policies”, “Safety Awareness”, “Hazard Communication”, “Bloodborne Pathogens”, “Office Egronomics”, “Stress Management”

There is a need for everyone to take responsibility in maintaining a healthy and safe workplace. It is a primary duty of all persons in authority, including supervisors, to ensure that any persons under our direction are made aware of and comply with all applicable policy and safety procedures.

All employees, therefore, are trained to report any health hazards and unsafe conditions or practices immediately to supervisory staff.

W.H.M.I.S. TRAINING

The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is a government regulation designed to ensure that we obtain information needed to inform and train all workers properly about hazardous materials in the workplace.

This means everyone who works with or around hazardous materials has access to information on their harmful properties and how to safely work with these products.

There are three ways this information is provided to our workers:

-              Labels, the contents of which are specified under WHMIS and which are produced by suppliers and, in some cases the workplace,

-              Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) which provide more detail than labels, and which must be readily accessible at all work times,

-              Training, which explains the various hazard warning symbols used on containers, as well as instructions in the safe handling and storage of hazardous materials, and the procedures for dealing with spills or accidental exposures.

Our H & S Coordinator spends a considerable amount of time with each individual cleaner to discuss and review chemicals National brings into the janitor closet.
